The New Puma Mild Hybrid (MHEV)
A new age of cleaner hybrid electric vehicles is here, and Ford Puma embodies this new direction. Offering a choice of new forward-thinking, advanced EcoBoost hybrid petrol options, the Puma engines deliver outstanding performance, together with impressive fuel economy and noticeably lower CO2 emissions figures than other conventional, non-hybrid engines.
What Is A Mild Hybrid (MHEV)?
A small-Electric motor that helps improve efficiency. Mild Hybrid vehicles have two sources of power that work together – a conventional engine and a battery-driven electric motor. The electric motor does not power the car. It simply assists it.
The All-New Kuga Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV)
Wherever the destination, the All-New Kuga Plug-in Hybrid uses two sources of power to get you there more efficiently than ever. An advanced electric powertrain lets you make shorter trips with zero emissions, and can charge anywhere you have access to mains. For longer journeys, 2.5L Duratec petrol engine ensures you can go as far as you want, and helps recharge the battery in the process.
What Is A Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV)?
Plug-in Hybrid Vehicles (PHEV) have all the functionality of full Hybrid technology, with the added advantage that they can be charged from an external electricity supply. The larger capacity of the battery makes them capable of zero-emissions while driving for ranges of up to 30 miles with the ability to switch to Hybrid mode to conserve battery life and to petrol-only for longer journeys.
